December...

Ciao friend and family. I'm making myself sit today and blog and upload pictures! We have been busy, busy. Our December was full of Christmas parties, traveling to Austria, and of course Christmas. I'll upload all of our pictures for all of you to look at.

Morgan has been having problems with headaches over the past several months. Last week she had an MRI done at an Italian hospital. She did awesome. She had to have an IV and sedation and never shed a tear. She is such a brave little girl. Me, on the other hand, I thought I was going to pass out when they let me go in while they sedated her. You would think that a nurse could handle that...not when it is your baby. We were so fortunate to get her results at the end of that very long day. Her MRI was completely normal!!! We were so relieved. She had her eyes checked today and her vision is 20/20. We'll see the Dr. next week and see what we do next.

Tyler is growing, growing, growing. I think he must be going through a growth spurt, because he never stops eating. I think he eats twice as much as me. In the last week or so he has started putting 2 and 3 words together. It is almost shocking. He still seems like such a baby to me. I can't believe he is almost 2!

We are anxiously waiting for daddy to get home. He has been in the states this past week. I think he had a great time catching up with friends, eating, and shopping. I hope he brings home some good treats! Please keep him in your prayers as he is flying a jet all the way back to Italy.
Hugs to you all!

Finally an update!

Ok, so it has been 3 months since I've blogged. Where does the time go? Everyday I say I'm going to sit down, and it just never happens. I can say that we have been busy. We've been traveling, moving into a new house, and enjoying visitors. Where do I start...

Let's begin with the busiest Anton. That would be Tyler, a.k.a swiper, T-dog, buddy, and sweet man. Since he started walking, he hasn't slowed down. He loves to be outside and absolutely loves emptying cabinets and drawers. He has been a trooper through the move, riding for endless hours on daddy's back, and surviving his first stomach flu.
Morgan is growing and happy as ever. She really loves going to Italian school. I'm not sure how much of the language she his picked up on, but ever now and then she'll say a word and surprise us. She goes to school 5 days a week from 9-1230. She eats lunch at school and it is always interesting hearing what she ate or really what she didn't eat. Morgan is also taking tap and ballet this fall and loving it. She is really getting excited for her half birthday and of course Santa.
It has taken me almost 3 weeks to finish this post...ridiculous! If only I had a few more "quiet" hours in a day. I finally updated our photo albums. I finished adding photos to Aug and created albums for Sept, Oct, and Nov. I'm hopeful that I'll be able to start keeping up with our blog. We'll see:)

Big Week

We've survived week 1 without the Daddy. Only 2 more to go! We had a great week with one big event...Tyler finally started walking. We went to a park on Thursday and he decided to be a big boy and only walk. He seems so big! Daddy is going to be so amazed when he gets home.
Morgan had her dance recital last night. She did 2 different dances and had a great time. She got to wear a princess dress. So many of her friends also danced and they were all adorable!
Tomorrow we'll find out if Morgan will get to attend an Asilo (Italian preshool) this year. Keep your fingers crossed. It has been a difficult decision for me. I know it will be beneficial to her in so many ways and hopefully she'll be understanding and speaking some Italian by the end of the year. She seems to be super excited, I just don't know if she completely understands what it will be like in the beginning. I know it will be harder for me...at least I hope it will.

I'm going to try and figure out how to attach video clips of Tyler walking and Morgan dancing. I'll also get some new pictures downloaded into our August album.

Hugs to you all.

Ciao ciao!

Summertime Fun

Thought I would post a few pool pictures. Morgan is a fish when it comes to the water. She loves going down the water slide and jumping off the diving board. Tyler also loves the water. I only wish he was walking so that he could stand and play in the baby pool. Morgan has been in swim lessons the past couple of weeks. She is really having a lot of fun.

Last weekend we spent the day up at Lake Barcis. It was a gorgeous day with temps in the 70s. The kids had fun playing at the park, feeding the fish and having a picnic.

Morgan got a summer haircut a couple of weeks ago. When Nikki was finished, Morgan looked in the mirror and said "I just don't look like myself!" She has since gotten used to having shorter hair and Erik and I love not spending 15 minutes blow drying it every night.

Tyler is on the verge of walking. He will stand up in the middle of the room and walk to one of us or the couch. He just won't go very far before he gets back on the floor to crawl. I'm sure he is waiting until his daddy is gone for 3 weeks to start walking all the time.

Finally an update!

I can not believe it has been 3 months since I last updated our blog. Maybe it is because we have been super busy. I'll give a quick recap of the highlights from the last 3 months.

Erik's parents came out for a visit in May. We started their visit with Morgan's dance recital and Tyler's baptism. We were so happy they were able to share these with us. We were able to do some traveling with them. The first half of our trip we saw Pisa and Cinque Terra. The second half of the week we spent in the heart of Tuscany. It was absolutely breathtaking. We spent a day in Florence and an evening in Sienna. We also took a day to visit a winery on Chianti road. The kids did great considering we drove at least 1,000 miles that week.

After we got home, we were busy getting ready for Morgan's birthday. Our baby turned 4! Unbelievable! We had a My Little Pony party with a bouncy castle (of course). It was a bit warm, but I think all the red-cheeked little girls had a blast. On June 2nd the kids and I traveled back to the states with Bill and Nancy. It took us 28ish hours from start to finish. To top it all off, we arrived in KS with no luggage. Not sure how soon we will make that trip again. I definitely couldn't have done it without Grandma and Papa Anton.

We spent almost 5 weeks in the states and it was fabulous. I did a lot of shopping (our checking account still hasn't recovered...Oops), eating, and catching up with friends and family. My little brother got married at the end of the month to an amazing woman. I'm so blessed to have a "new" sister and Aunt to the kiddos. We had a great time and loved being able to spend so much time with family. Erik was able to join us in the states for 9 days. We were able to get away overnight without the kiddos. We celebrated our 8 year anniversary. I can't believe Erik and I have known each other for 16 years and been together for almost 14. We are now back and busy as ever. Morgan has dance twice a week and has just finished her first week of swim lessons. Tyler is busy, busy. He is climbing on everything (has taken a few big falls), and attempting to walk. Erik is super busy heading up a TDY. And me, well just trying to keep up with everything:)
Hopefully I'll get our albums updated with new pictures soon.

Love to you all.

Ciao!

Morgan update

I thought I would post on "just" Morgan since I haven't done it in a while. She is absolutely thriving. She loves school, ballet, and most of all life. She really keeps me grounded and can always put a smile on my face. There is nothing sweeter than hearing your daughter tell you how wonderful you are and how much you are loved! I wonder if she will feel the same at 13:)

Morgan is full of questions. Some are really difficult to answer, especially in words that a 3 year old will understand. Here is a typical discussion after a question has been asked.

Morgan - Mom, can you walk on clouds?
Mom - No
Morgan - Why?
Mom - Because they are too soft.
Morgan - Why?
Mom - Ummm...That's a good question, let's ask your dad:)

She has also had many anatomy questions. I can't wait for her to surprise Erik with one!

It is a big month for Morgan. She is counting the days until Grandma and PaPa Anton are here, her dance recital, our trip to Pisa and of course her birthday. Hopefully I can keep up with all the blogging!

First Birthday

Tyler turned 1 last weekend. It is so hard to believe an entire year has gone by. We had a small party for Tyler on Saturday. He wasn't sure what was going on and he wasn't all that interested. He really just wanted to crawl around and put all the things he shouldn't into his mouth. He, or should I say his big sister, is enjoying all his new toys!

Tyler is a busy little guy. He loves to play with Morgan. They will sit for an hour in the playroom laughing and playing. He is trying to cruise while holding on to the furniture. He still isn't sure about sitting down after he has pulled up on something. Besides, why should he do it on his own when he knows Morgan will come to the rescue:)

Tyler had his one year well-baby visit this past week. He weighed in at 22 lbs. and is 30.5 inches, both being in the 50th percentile. So big!

Love to you all! This birthday celebration wasn't quite the same without all of you. We are super excited to be back in the states next month. We hope to see as many of you as possible.
